MetaSUB International Consortium

Initially as research director and then as executive director Benjamin has sought to streamline and automate as much of the MetaSUB research pipeline as possible. Under his leadership the consortium grew more than 40% and added collaborators in Africa, Asia, and South America. Projects started during his directorship include MetaMED, looking at the metagenomics of medical environments, MetaSEW, monitoring the emergence of COVID and other RNA viruses in wastewater, and MetaFIRE, to track the repopulation of soli microbiomes following forest fires.
